Following Aisha Tyler’s departure, it  was announced that rapper Eve will be joining ‘The Talk’ as a permanent co host to the show. Eve was a guest host during the week of October 13th and now the Grammy winning rapper has found a new home.

The 39-year-old will be sitting alongside Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood five days a week. Eve sat down with ESSENCE on Monday to talk about her new gig and what she hopes to bring to the table.

I hope that I can bring my personality, my opinion when it comes to different things,” Eve said. “I think the fact that I live in London, and the fact that I’m also in an interracial relationship, the fact that I’m a step-mom —I’m hoping that I can bring my personal life, things that are in my personal life into the group.

While Eve lives in London with her husband,  Maximillion Cooper and stepchildren she will stay in Los Angeles to film while her family stays behind.

If I have any anxieties [about being on the show], it would be that. I love living in the UK, obviously love being with my husband and my dog, and I love my life there. But, I feel blessed and lucky to have gotten this opportunity, and it’s an opportunity that’s crazy to pass.

We’ll make it work. My husband will fly out, he loves California, my step kids love California, and I’ll fly back to London when I can. We’ll figure it out, that’s just life. It’s a great opportunity.

CBS’s Executive VP fof Daytime Programs, Angelica McDaniel said in a statement

Eve brings a fun and fresh perspective to our already diverse panel and will add a new layer to the show as we continue to evolve season to season.

The show has been on air since 2010, which is a great look for Eve !
