Rihanna’s uncle, Leroy Fitzgerald is reportedly facing charges for selling knock items from his niece’s PUMA collection.
According to Barbados’ premiere news site Nation News, Rihanna was visiting Barbados her home country where she spotted the items being sold. Her 53-year-old uncle was seen on Swan Street selling the items. She alerted her Puma representative, who soon flew to the island to investigate. The representative then filed a police report when they saw the fake items in person.
Leroy, a musician who has performed under the names Daddy I-Roy and De Warrior has been charged under the country’s Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC) Consumer Protection Act. Since, he lawyers claim the charges were “improperly laid” as police officials failed to serve him with a warning under the act.
He has been released and scheduled for a hearing later on this month.
