New Music: Miguel Cant Sleep Together

Miguel has teamed up with Adult Swim Single Program which features other artist like Dan Deacon and Andy Stott, to Lil’ B and Killer Mike.

The single tells the tale of a couple who obviously can’t sleep so Miguel suggest that they keep each other company. It’s 3 A.M and only one thing is on his mind while reruns of Fresh Prince plays on his television set and it sure isn’t sleep. I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination.

How many drinks ? Apparently one to many !

Singer Miguel was arrested driving while under the influence but since has been released on $5000 bail.

TMZ reports that singer was driving his 2013 BMW X6 around 2:15 AM Thursday morning when the California Highway Patrol officers initially flagged his vehicle for speeding and illegal tinted windows.

When the cops stopped Miguel’s car, they notice he smelled of alcohol, and decided to perform sobriety tests on him, which he failed. Miguel blew a .10  the breathalyzer, which is above California’s legal limit of .08.

New Video: Miguel Featuring Kendrick Lamar How Many Drinks Remix

After the two appeared on this months cover of VIBE magazine for VIBE’s 2013 Big List and expressing their feelings toward one anothers music in the interview, as promised Miguel snatched Kendrick Lamar up and made a video for his new single How Many Drinks Remix

The video produced by Clark Jackson aka Constellation Jones, is more like a live performance than a video. Another summer banger !

J Cole Is Power Trippin And Talking Murder

jcole jcole1

Yikes ! If you haven’t already seen the video, I advise you to stop reading and go watch the video below otherwise continue reading. (SPOILER ALERT) J Cole definitely out done himself in this video and for those of you who actually watched the video know what Im talking about.

The single off his upcoming album Born Sinner dropping June 25, Power Trip had me tripping, noooooo I wasnt ready ! ( In my Kevin Hart Voice). In the visual jealous, J.Cole literally stalks his ex who he just cant seem to let go. Watching his ex interact with her new beau from his car J.Cole raps about how he has sleepless nights dreaming about this girl who he planned a future with and how he wrote a song named Dream for her. Seeing her with another man does not sit well with him. Miguel who plays the boyfriend is seen getting dressed and has no idea they are being watched. Ultimately J.Cole and his home boy who is also in the car with J.Cole while he is plotting, kills Miguel burying him in the woods. Yes ! He takes it there. However as the two are seen driving through a dead and eerie countryside they are confronted by the police. Of course the suspicious police officer checks the car but only to find a shovel in the trunk. Never once questioning the bags and wood on top of the hood of the car the officer lets them go. And yes it is Miguel’s body in that bag.

J.Cole sat down with MTV and revealed that it didn’t know if Miguel would be down for the video, he had to personally pitch the idea to Miguel himself . Surprisingly Miguel had the same idea as J.Cole, directors of the video were reluctant to ask Miguel unaware of how he might respond to the idea.

In the end, the end result of the video is well illustrated through the lyrics and video itself. In this era its very rare that you will run across a video that has anything to do with the song however J.Cole is definitely an artist lyrically and visually !

Fun Fact: Dreams (as mentioned in this song) is off of J.Cole’s mixtape “The Warm Up” (2009). In the song J.Cole raps about a girl who he tells that he spend time dreaming of a way to murder her boyfriend. In the song he schemes as he tells her what he has been plotting.”I’mma follow in my car, I’mma cut in front of his, run him right into the wall, maybe even off the bridge.” Although Power Trip didn’t exactly go as planned in Dreams its amazing how four years later J.Cole ties it all together.

Catch the video and sit down with MTV as J.Cole discusses the concept of the video:
